Parish Donations to Llanelli Foodbank

After a very positive response to the idea of supporting the foodbank in Llanelli, the parish will begin collecting items from the weekend of the 1st/2nd of October, 2016.

Boxes will be placed at the back of both churches wherein items may be placed. Please keep to the list republished here as they need long-life items and not perishables.

A rota for the transport of items to Llanelli will shortly be published on the noticeboard of both churches.

At the moment the foodbank is short of biscuits and long life fruit juices.

Unveiling of Statue of the Sacred Heart, Burry Port

A refurbished statue of the Sacred Heart was unveiled following Mass, yesterday (the 16th June 2012).

It now accompanies a statue of Our Lady of the Rosary.

In this picture our parish priest Father Benedict Koledoye, joined by the congregation, recites the Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Sad News: Jack Rees R.I.P.

Some very sad news this evening from Fr. Benedict Koledoye:

"Jack Rees passed on this evening after being fortified with the rites of the Church. His death is our loss but certainly Heaven's gain.

"There will be sacrifice of Holy Mass for the repose of his soul tomorrow [Tuesday] at 8.45am.

"Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.

"Jack's funeral will be announced later by his family."

KIDWELLY CHURCH HEATING:

The heating system of Kidwelly was installed few weeks ago. The cost of installation was £1,082.00. Many thanks to Kim and the 200 Club who raised £760.00 and £100.00 were raised from St. David’s Day raffle. Very many thanks for your generosity.
